Taking Care of your Jewelry

  • Your handmade jewelry was constructed for longevity and sturdiness, but care should be given with delicacy in mind. It is always safe practice to remove your jewelry before engaging in any activities that could harm your jewelry. Such activities could scratch, dent, or pull susceptive elements like prongs, and your piece could become misshapen or gemstones loosened.

  • Remove jewelry when engaged in activities that include, but are not limited to:

Exercise, Sleeping, Showering/ Bathing, Swimming, Heavy lifting, Cleaning, etc.

Avoid jewelry coming into contact with liquids, lotions, perfumes, and chemical as they my be too harsh for your gemstones and metals.

  • STERLING SILVER

A characteristic quality of Sterling Silver is to oxidize, tarnish, or self patina as a reaction to exposure to atmospheric elements or body chemistry. This tarnish results in the metal taking on a yellowish to blackish color. If you prefer the original polished finish, the tarnish may be removed by GENTLY, emphasizing GENTLY, rubbing the silver with a cleaning/ polishing cloth. A very soft brush with mild soap and warm water can also be used to gently clean.

  • GEMSTONES

Nature's beautiful gems can be sensitive. Avoid chemicals, heat, and excessive exposure to sunlight.

Gently clean by wiping with soft cloth.

  • STORAGE

Store your jewelry carefully when not in use. Using anti-tarnish strips placed with jewelry in an airtight container or in anti-tarnish jewelry pouch can slow the oxidizing process. Store piece separately, or in compartmentalized box to aid in avoiding tangles and rubbing against other jewelry pieces.

  • Care and kindness to your jewelry will allow you to enjoy your Valeria Antoinette Jewelry for many years to come.
